2 cups dill pickle chips
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt plus more to taste
1 teaspoon black pepper plus more to taste
1 egg
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 cups finely crushed saltines
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Method:
In a large plastic food-storage bag, mix together the flour, salt and black pepper. Place the pickle chips in the bag and shake until they are well coated.
Mix together the eggs with the buttermilk. Place the crushed saltines on a plate and mix in the cayenne and dill weed. In batches, dip the flour-coated pickles into the eggs and then lightly dredge in the saltines. Place cracker-coated pickles on a large plate or sheet. Repeat until all the pickles are coated.
In a large, heavy skillet heat 1/2 inch of oil on medium heat until it reaches 350 degrees. Cook the pickles for one minute or until golden brown, turning once. Depending on the size of your skillet will probably have to do in several batches. Drain on paper towels.
Serve immediately with your favorite buttermilk dressing.
Yield: 2-4 servings

6 Kirby cucumbers, cleaned, stemmed and halved, lengthwise
1/2 cup of white vinegar
2 tablespoons of salt
1 tablespoon of black peppercorns
1 tablespoon of coriander seeds
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 cup of fresh dill
Method:
Place salt, peppercorns, coriander seeds, garlic and dill in a sterilized 1-quart Mason jar.
Layer sliced cucumbers in jar, leaving 1/2 inch at the top.
Pour in vinegar.
Fill jar with water, seal with lid and shake for about a minute.
Refrigerate for six days, shaking daily.
Makes 1-quart jar of dill pickles. This simple recipe, however, can easily be multiplied.

Ninfa's spicy pickled carrots recipe
Ninfa's spicy pickled carrots (adapted from the Houston Chronicle)
Ingredients:
1 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 cups white vinegar
1 ounce chiles de arbol, stems removed
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon kosher salt (plus more to taste)
1 pound carrots, cut into thin rounds
1/4 cup slivered onions
1 garlic clove
1 jalapeño, seeds and stem removed, sliced
Method:
In a medium-sized pot, add the water, vegetable oil, vinegar and chiles de arbol. Bring to a boil and then turn the heat down to medium. Cook for 5 minutes, uncovered.
Add to the pot the cumin, oregano, black pepper and salt. Continue to cook on medium for 5 more minutes. Add the sliced carrots, onions, garlic and jalapeño, and cook for 10 minutes, or until the carrots are your desired texture. Taste and add more salt if you prefer.
Cool and then refrigerate. Will keep for one month refrigerated.
Yield: about 2 pints
Note: Chiles de arbol can be found at Mexican grocers and many regular supermarkets. And be aware that these carrots are very hot, so you might want to cut back on the chiles de arbol.

Pickled shrimp, inspired by the restaurant Cabrito
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds of uncooked medium-sized shrimp, peeled and de-veined
4 limes juiced (1/2 cup)
1/2 cup of pineapple juice
1/4 cup of white wine vinegar
1/4 cup of chopped cilantro
1-2 Serrano chiles, sliced
1/2 medium red onion, cut into slivers
1 clove of garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1 bay leaf
2 tablespoons of salt, plus more to taste
Method:
Add the cayenne, bay leaf and 2 tablespoons of salt to a large pot of water. Bring to a boil and then add the shrimp. Cook shrimp for one minute, drain and run cold water over shrimp.
In a large jar or plastic food-storage bag, add shrimp and rest of ingredients. Add 1 cup of water (or enough to cover the shrimp), sprinkle in a bit of salt, and marinate in the refrigerator overnight, shaking or turning occasionally.
Can serve in bowls, on tortilla chips or with tortillas. Serves four.
Note: You can doll it up by adding cubed avocado, pineapple or mango when serving, if you wish (not while pickling otherwise the fruit will get mushy). The restaurant where we ate added pepitas on top, which was a great contrast in texture and flavor.

Six pint jars, sterilized
Method:
1. Cook the peppers, carrots, cauliflower and onion in the oil on medium heat for ten minutes or until onion is clear.
2. In each jar, place the equivalent of 1 minced clove of garlic (1 teaspoon), 1 sprig of cilantro, 1 teaspoon each of peppercorns and cumin seeds.
3. Divide pepper mix between the six jars.
4. Add 1/2 cup of vinegar to each jar and then fill the rest of the jar with water, leaving 1/2 inch at the top. Add a dash of salt.
5. Seal and then give jar a good shake.
6. Refrigerate overnight and they should be ready within 24 hours. Will keep in the refrigerator for a month. Makes 6 pints

Ash- It was so obvious because when he walked up to J2 in the photo op, he stepped between the two of them, never even looked at Jensen and was just smiling from ear to ear and talking very excitedly to Jared the whole time. In Jared's photo op, no he didn't grope him (thank God!!) but he did ask Jared to pick him up, which Jared obliged.

I can shed a little light on this question. I happened to be standing in line right behind the guy who asked the question both in the photo ops line and in the Q & A. It was really obvious he had a huge crush on Jared and when he asked that question, I think Jensen immediately picked up on the subtext and that's what made him bust up laughing. Well, that and it was just such an out of the blue question to ask, I think it just made both of them get the giggles.

The Question Guy got the tattoo on his robs and it looks GREAT!! In fact I am going to get both boys siggies tattooed on my lower back. And the picture with Question Guy and Jared looks WONDERFUL.

(cont'd) None of could believe Jared did that because the guy wasn't exactly small and we thought poor Jared was going to pull a muscle lifting him up. But again, the guy was just grinning for all he was worth with his arms around Jared's neck! Yeah, definitely a crush going on there!

haha I kno who ur talkin about ...one of my friends told me that he went up to jared for his autograph and lifted up his shirt and asked Jared to write his signature on his ribcage so he could get it tatooed on himself... and Jared was like "uhh well why dont I just write it down on paper first" ... lol Jared apparently went red

You know, I've heard in several other panels Jared mentioning that a fan asked him to sign their ribcage so they could get it tattooed, and he's always blushed, but I didn't realize it was a GUY that asked him! ;D

As far as the pickle question goes, it was honest curiosity no subtext. It was in a dream as a matter of fact since then I've tried it. As far as the tat goes its not just Jared there its there's a story and major meaning behind it. Ash- It was so obvious because when he walked up to J2 in the photo op, he stepped between the two of them, never even looked at Jensen and was just smiling from ear to ear and talking very excitedly to Jared the whole time. In Jared's photo op, no he didn't grope him (thank God!!) but he did ask Jared to pick him up, which Jared obliged.

I can shed a little light on this question. I happened to be standing in line right behind the guy who asked the question both in the photo ops line and in the Q & A. It was really obvious he had a huge crush on Jared and when he asked that question, I think Jensen immediately picked up on the subtext and that's what made him bust up laughing. Well, that and it was just such an out of the blue question to ask, I think it just made both of them get the giggles.

It was an unexpected silly question, plus added to Jared's comments; "Is that something I should look out for?" And "that is the most paranormal thing that's ever happened" Sometimes things just make you laugh. You have to understand the humor of it. Haven't you ever heard something so silly, that it just made you laugh real hard?

yea, as jared came on he brought jensen some coffee, jensen went of stage and shouted "what is this?" and jared was like "it's just coffee!" then jokeingly muttered something about doing something to the coffee.
I found it on other clips of the con.
